Roofing Sheets

Metal sheeting is the most common roofing material for residential buildings.

Used for

  • Main roof covering
  • Carports and verandas

Quality considerations

  • Check the sheet's coating and gauge (thickness) — thinner, uncoated sheets are cheaper but corrode and dent faster.
  • Confirm the roof pitch and truss design suit the sheet type being used.

Common mistakes

  • Under-specifying gauge/coating to reduce upfront cost, leading to earlier replacement.
  • Poor fixing and flashing detail, causing leaks at joints and edges.

Priced per sheet or per square metre; coating type and gauge are the biggest price drivers.
